FOOD LABELS, MADE CLEAR

Know what
goes into
your choices.

A long ingredient list shouldn’t leave you guessing. ScanBazaar helps you understand halal guidance—and spot the ingredients that need a closer look.

From the label in your hand
to information you can understand.

Static ScanBazaar results screen with fictional oat biscuit ingredient data. Five ingredients are classified as halal in this sample and one emulsifier requires a source check. This is a design preview, not a real product assessment.

01 / A SIMPLE START

Less label confusion.
More understanding.

Start with an ingredient photo or text. ScanBazaar helps turn unfamiliar names into clear, ingredient-level guidance.

01

Bring the label into view.

Capture the ingredient list or provide the text. It starts with the information on the packaging.

02

Understand what’s listed.

AI helps identify the ingredients and organize the information so you can review it more easily.

03

Know what to look into.

Review the classifications and see which ingredients may need source information before you decide.

02 / UNDERSTAND THE RESULTS

Three outcomes.
No forced answers.

Not every ingredient can be understood from its name alone. ScanBazaar makes room for that uncertainty instead of treating every result as a simple yes or no.

Why the source matters
Ingredient guidance is not the same as halal certification.

Halal

PERMISSIBLE

An ingredient identified as permissible based on the information available.

?

Mashbooh

NEEDS CHECKING

The source or other details are unclear. More information is needed to make an informed assessment.

Haram

NOT PERMISSIBLE

An ingredient identified as impermissible according to the information assessed.

A static sample ingredient detail record. Emulsifier source is not specified; plant and animal origins are shown as possibilities, not confirmed facts.
03 / LOOK BEYOND THE NAME

The small details
make a difference.

Some ingredients can come from more than one source. An ingredient list may tell you the name, but leave the origin unclear.

ScanBazaar helps bring those gaps into view, so you know when to check further rather than rely on an assumption.

Start with what the label says.

Review the actual ingredient information.

Recognize what it doesn’t say.

Look for source details that may be missing.

Make a more informed choice.

Follow up when the result needs clarification.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

A clearer picture,
from the start.

What to know about ingredient scanning, uncertainty and using the results.

What does ScanBazaar do?

ScanBazaar uses AI to help read ingredient images or text and present ingredient-level halal guidance. The experience highlights what can be assessed and what may need additional information.

What does “Mashbooh” mean?

Mashbooh means doubtful or uncertain. An ingredient may need more checking because its source or other relevant details are not clear from the information available.

Is this a halal certification?

No. ScanBazaar provides ingredient information and AI-assisted guidance, not formal halal certification or a religious ruling. Verify uncertain ingredients with the manufacturer or a trusted certification authority.

Can I provide ingredient text instead of an image?

The product’s ingredient-review process supports both ingredient images and text. Clear, complete information makes it easier to review what is listed.

What should I do when the source is unclear?

Check with the manufacturer or look for reliable certification information. A missing source should not be treated as proof that an ingredient is permissible or impermissible.
